Laura Mlynarski PhD, is the Clinical Director of Cognitive Behavioral Wellness, LLC and is licensed to practice in both Virginia and The District of Columbia. She is also credentialed through PSYPACT and licensed to provide teletherapy in the participating states (PSYPACT). Dr. Mlynarski specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Dr. Mlynarski graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bucknell University as a psychology and Spanish double major. She graduated from Columbia University with a Masters in Social Work and practiced in New York City for several years gaining extensive experience in evidenced based interventions for anxiety. Dr. Mlynarski later returned to graduate school earning a PhD in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Institute of Living in CT and was trained at the Anxiety Disorder Center. She completed her post-doctoral training at the Capital Institute for Cognitive Therapy where she further specialized in ERP for OCD. Dr. Mlynarski currently has a virtual outpatient practice specializing in evidence-based care of OCD and Anxiety Disorders.
While she specializes in the use of ERP, she also incorporates her training with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Supporting Parents with Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), CBT-Insomnia (CBT-I) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Dr. Mlynarski has also presented at various conferences and has taught several undergraduate psychology courses at George Washington University and graduate courses at Catholic University of America. Dr. Mlynarski is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), and the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF).
